TONY SAUNDERS

A new crime partnership is here, DI Jim Trussell and DS Jackie Joynton.

I was born in Beckenham and we lived in the area until I retired after 35 years as a City Insurance Broker.

After retiring I studied with the Open University, achieving a BA Hons which included Local History studies, having already obtained a BSc in Earth Sciences just before I left the City.

My wife and I moved to a village in Kent, where we involved ourselves in local clubs and societies. In my retirement I discovered a more creative side, enjoying painting as well ashelping to start a film society. I found myself searching for wider interests which included joining a local authority creative writing course, held weekly in one of the village pubs!

We then moved to the nearby historic town where we still live and I managed to join a local writers’ group. Meeting other writers, including published authors, encouraged me to begin with short stories, and then I started my first novel, a murder mystery. Publication was a real incentive to continue, so I am now working on my next book.
