Eric Doumerc teaches English at the University of Toulouse-Jean Jaurès, southwestern France. His research interests include Caribbean poetry, music, and the Caribbean oral tradition. He edited Five Birmingham Poets ,an anthology of poems by black poets from the West Midlands which was published in 2006 by Raka Books, the late Roi Kwabena’s publishing imprint. In 2011, Smokestack Books published Celebrate Wha’: Ten Black British Poets from the Midlands (Middelesbrough: Smokestack Books, 2011), an anthology which he co-edited with the poet Roy McFarlane.
