Fenella’s books are mystery novels with more than a hint of the supernatural. In ‘Hornbeams’ newly widowed, Magda McLean moves out of London into the peaceful Cambridgeshire countryside with her two dogs. One day a stranger arrives at her door searching for a woman who used to live in her cottage, and although the man soon becomes a friend, he also sparks an obsession with the missing woman… ‘Shadows’ is about a family who move into the Herefordshire countryside but soon strange and inexplicable things start to happen around and to them.
Born and brought up in North London, Fenella moved around quite a bit, living in the Forest of Dean, Ross on Wye, and Peterborough before retiring to South Wales with her adult daughter and our three dogs. Like her heroine Magda she was widowed young and she worked for most of her life for the NHS and Social Services.Fenella is a great reader. She grew up in a house full of books and made regular visits to the library with her mother. She says the first place she ever took her daughter after she was born was the local library. She loves writing and walking her dogs around the lovely Welsh countryside. ‘Hornbeams’ is her first published novel.
