A well-established poet, we’re pleased to be publishing his new collection in Summer 2018.

“I have worked in factories, journalism and sales and writing essays on art, architecture and literature for New English Review under Theodore Dalrymple. People think we should follow and as its the facebook age write in little bits or compete with reality TV by telling all about us. I disagree: write traditional-syle poems with, I hope, meaning and keep a sense of mystery about one-self. I like travelling and have been to many parts of the country, towns, cities and villages. My method for finding interesting local places is to ring the local Tourist office and when I arrive I go to a pub and talk to local people who know the interesting places. That is why I have been to unusual places like the city farm in St. Werburghs city farm, Bristol, Sky Edge, Sheffield, home of the legendary Sheffield Gang Wars and the source of the Mersey in Stockport.

I take a lot of photographs of these places and a very small example is in the Gallery on my website. I am taking notes for a future large volume of Literary Essays which will range from medieval Literature to the twentieth century. I studied English literature, Dramatic Structure and Playwriting and Film Structure and script writing. I find that when I am busy a break in a traditional pub is refreshing and you return to work with new ideas and a fresh view of what you are doing. People ask what one’s influences are: I try to write in my own way. But a lifetime of reading leaves a mark.”
