ALISON MANNING

Originally from Yorkshire, Alison Manning now lives in the West Midlands with her husband and three children. After a long break from writing, being sidetracked by other things, she started writing more again from the beginning of lockdown in 2020. She had a poem, “Lady Godiva in Lockdown”, published in a Coventry lockdown anthology in 2020.

She was commissioned to write a poem for The Show Windows, part of Coventry City of Culture, in 2021. She has had a poetry film, Circle Cycle, featured in two film festivals, ann exhibition, and on the BBC (radio). World Without Endless Sheep is her first book for children, but she is also working on rhyming stories for younger children and hopes to write more books for all ages. She also writes poetry and was shortlisted for the role of Coventry Poet Laureate in 2023. Her spare time is spent on church and community activities, reading, walking and trying to grow lemons. She has recently diversified into limes.
